Shawn Teevin

“Learning many lessons from the stump, Shawn was that kid who asked a lot questions and never took ‘no’ for an answer.”

To paraphrase the Willy Nelson hit, “Mamma’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboy’s,” Mother Teevin had reservations when her young son could not be swayed from the woods and becoming a logger like his father.

Born near Seaside, Oregon, Shawn grew up in the woods; and today he still appreciates the sights, smells, and sounds of a northwest forest. Attending and graduating from Knappa High School, Shawn began work with his brother Jeff in 1978 at 18.

Learning by doing, Shawn has acquired a vast array of knowledge and skills that have built the company. Sought out for advice and his business acumen, Shawn has served on numerous boards and advisory committees over the years such as the Bank of Astoria Board of Directors, Columbia Bank Board, Columbia River Maritime Museum – Board of Directors, Knappa Schools Foundation, Clatsop County Economic Development Task Force – Forest & Wood Products. Shawn is a graduate of Willamette University – Bank Director’s College and Columbia Memorial Hospital for the Knight Cancer Center and the upcoming new hospital.

Shawn keeps an even hand at the helm of the company. When he does have an opportunity to relax, Shawn is often found outside – perhaps at the Jewell Ranch, on the river, or at his Tumalo Hay Ranch. An avid outdoorsman, Shawn lives for elk hunting and salmon fishing.

Shawn is married to Paula Teevin and their blended family of five children and three grandchildren keeps them busy.
